All Blacks center Sonny Bill Williams in which to stay rugby

Sonny Bill Williams seems to have played his last NRL match, the international set that is double to prolong his stay in the 15-a-side code in the Sydney Roosters despite overtures that are continuing.

Nevertheless, reports appeared that the big money available in European and French rugby and the possible choice for the All Blacks will keep Williams in rugby beyond this year when his present contract finishes.

And the Roosters are keen to procure his gift for next year.

That cash could be used -on fee to entice Williams back.

On the other hand, the 30-year old Williams is said to see his future.

That would lead to the Roosters missing out in Williams and Jarryd Hayne on two of their primary recruiting goals. Former Parramatta captain Hayne is decided to continue to pursue his NFL fantasy. If he returned to the NRL but he said before this year, it’d just be with the Eels.

The Roosters might have realised they wanted to turn their focus elsewhere: North Queensland premiership-winning fullback Lachlan Coote has apparently been offered a four-year deal to join the side of Trent Robinson .

Stuart Hooper: Shower chief retires with impact

Stuart Hooper

Bath captain Stuart Hooper has retired with immediate effect due to a back injury.

“I did the harm in December against Leicester. I missed six or five weeks got it back into a period when I really could play, but did not get it right sadly.

Now I am really, very excited about the following challenges in life.”

Hooper, who sits ninth on the all time record of Premiership appearance makers, became the captain of Bath in 2011.

His side are now ninth in the Premiership.

“To lead like he’s done is an excellent homage to the guy,” said Bath head coach Mike Ford. “To get this way is an excellent accomplishment, to play in the position he plays for 16 years in the top level.

“Stuart made the decision at the start of the season this would be his last. It is just four matches off his terms although it is not exactly on his terms. Many people must retire with years left inside them.

He is not going away.

“He is an incredible person of excellent character as well as the club have recognised that individuals are in need of folks like this in the organisation. He will be here for quite a while.”
